When it comes to nail polish I don’t think there’s a better choice than red. Other than being my favourite colour I feel no matter the shade you end up choosing reds are perfect for all year-round. Plus it is a classic, and you can never go wrong with a classic.
Soigné in Persimmon – is the perfect orangey red. Soigné formula is perfection, long-lasting with 85% plant-sourced ingredients. The varnish is very pigmented and dry quite quickly so it’s the perfect choice for when you fancy a very quick mani.
Rimmel in 317 Hip Hop – was an impossible shade to find a couple of years ago. Practically a dupe for CHANEL in Holiday for a third of the price, it was bound to be. Still an orangey red, but with a touch more red than Persimmon. Very long-lasting, it dries quite quickly. It does need two coats to get a full colour, but for the price tag I am totally not bothered.
Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine in Pomegranate – For the lovers of glossy finish without faffing around with a top coat Barry M’s Gelly are great. Pomegranate it’s an odd red, close to a true red with a touch of blue in it, I always getting complimented on my nails when I am wearing this shade.
These dark shades shouldn’t be too new to you as I spoke about them plenty.
Nails Inc in Tate – is a classic, true red which you can never go wrong with. I have the old packaging with the more traditional brush which is more difficult to master, but the formula as all Nails Inc. products is great. Don’t fear though, cause they rebranded all their collection so this shade now comes with oxygen resin complex rich formula to create a high shine finish that is both air and water permeable.
CHANEL Le Vernis Nail Colour in 639 Exception– is an eye-catching brick red which gets a fair amount of compliment for it’s quite unexpected, classy yet edgy. Unlike other CHANEL polishes I’ve tried, this one is very long-lasting. I feel cause it has a creamier formulas than the others. Rumour has it though that CHANEL might soon come out with a Long-Lasting nail polish range, if that’s true, wallet permitting I’ll be all over that.
Maybelline Superstay 7 Days in 287 Midnight Red – a classic deep burgundy red that could be a dupe for CHANEL infamous Rouge Noir. There’s no bad thing to say about this formula either, very pigmented, dries quickly and the brush is very easy to use. Total win-win.
Do you have any red I should add to my collection?
