Charlotte Tilbury: Backstage Artist Makeovers

As part of Selfridges’s The Beauty Lab six weeks event, Charlotte Tilbury and her team were giving ladies makeovers to transform them in one of Charlotte’s Iconic Women.

If you don’t know who Charlotte Tilbury is, she is the no.1 make up artist in the world who’s made up some famous faces like: Kate Moss, Jennifer Lopez, Penelope Cruz and Rihanna, just to name a few. So OF COURSE I had to take advantage of the event, and this being the first time having a professional makeover, might as well go big or go home!

My makeup artist’s name was Lina, a Swedish beautiful and talented girl who was sporting the infamous Dolce Vita look. The poor girl was standing since 8 a.m. but she was very nice and explained to me every step of the chosen look.

You all know, as much as I love makeup is very rare I sport a lot of makeup on, but I was up to try something different. I was really drowned to the Rock Chick look, but asked Lina to do whatever she felt matched to me and we decided to go for the Sophisticate look. My friends would very much laugh about this choice, since they seem to think I’m the poshest one of us, so of course I didn’t tell them about the fact that a woman who just met me thought the Sophisticate look was the perfect one for me! I, on the other hand, was more surprised when Lina told me the inspiration for this look were Audrey Hepburn and Natalie Portman, which are my all time favourite actresses!

My skin was prepped with the 5 Minute Skin Revolution round up. My favourite product of this step has to be the Multi Miracle Glow (£45) a one does it all product that can be used as a cleanser, mask and all over moisturiser. You have no idea how good this could feel in summer after spending all day at the beach – note to self: start saving up for this one!

Then she carried on with the make up starting with the toned down version for the day (more up my street and personal favourite) and the dolled-up version for the night, which I really liked as well, although it was slightly out my comfort zone, more makeup than I usually put but perfectly executed as you would expect and beautiful nonetheless.

Unfortunately, not being a fan of selfie (as you can probably tell if you follow me on Instagram) I didn’t take one straight away, and when I got home the lighting was crap already, so I thought it was best for you to leave you with the link to Charlotte’s The Sophisticate Make Up Tutorial (click here).

On my wish list:  Multi Miracle Glow (£45), The Classic Eye Pencil in Audrey (£16), The Sophisticate Palette (£38), Brow Lift in Grace K (£22.50); Filmstar Bronze & Glow (£45 – top of my list – I have fairly visible cheek bones but this one, Woo! Let me tell you, my cheekbones where on another level!!); and the Powder and Sculpt Brush (£35).

Seems I have to start saving up. God why isn’t it Christmas yet?!
