An odd pick – Mini Eggs mani

afterlight

afterlight-2Have to admit, never been a big fan of pink. I know weird! Since the “bubble gum pink” mania back in high school, I developed a proper hate for the colour and I spent many years avoiding everything, seriously EVERYTHING pink.

In the recent years though, I started buying more pink coloured items. My favourite shade of pink would have to be powder pink, or pale pastel pink (very bad in describing colours, you’ll have to forgive me!). Spring seems to be finally here, so I’ve been verging more on pastels and light shades, which do not really occupy a big space in my polish stash. Something I have to work on. If you read my previous post, you’d probably know I am moving house soon, so I am really trying hard not to splurge, so for a lacquer-holic as myself, this was a job for BarryM. Their¬†Gelly offer is honestly the best option for when you want a nice long-lasting polish without breaking the bank.

Recently BarryM came out with a pastel offer for their Gelly range: a mint green, a powdery blue, and a powdery pink. I went for the powdery pink, surprisingly, as I didn’t own anything similar in my collection, and have to admit the name got me – Rose Hip, how could i resist?

The Gelly formula is the best, hands down, in the high street if ever. It goes opaque in two layers, dries quickly with a glossy finish, and unless you dig holes in the ground bare handed, it can last as far as one week. For £3.99 I think is a winner.

The colour is brilliant too, I am quite fair and was afraid this pale pink, with a strong white undertone, could wash me out, but instead I feel like I get the opposite effect. On a darker skin tone, it would look major too!

Have you ever tried BarryM Gelly polishes before? Which shade is your favourite?
