Last week, whilst hauling in Heathrow I picked up the L’Orèal True Match Foundation (£9.90) in the shade C2 Vanilla Rose. If you haven’t read the post, I’ll update you very quickly. I was on the hunt for a new lightweight foundation for spring with a light to medium coverage and decided to go for the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation (£35.50). However, just when I was ready to splurge, I came across Amelia‘s post on the L’Orèal Foundation claiming this one was the perfect dupe for the Giorgio Armani. I was sold!
As promised, I am reporting back faster then expected cause I really really like this foundation and I don’t know what I was doing before this babe came into my life! As mentioned it has a lightweight light to medium coverage, which can go to full if builded up properly. It has a semi-matte yet luminous finish with a very long staying power. It also features a SPF 17, which the Giorgio Armani doesn’t have, so probably not the best choice if you get your photos taken with flash. I believe the colour range they have is pretty good for a high street brand, as it is available in 20 shades, from the fairest to the darkest.
All in all, I really don’t have nothing bad to report about this foundation so far. Since L’Orèal owns Giorgio Armani Beauty, the formula can’t be too far from the original, I don’t need to powder thanks to the semi-matte long-lasting finish, and it covers my reddy cheeks. It’s an all round winner! Plus it saved me £25.60, did I convince you yet?
