I know I should be talking bright colours, spring, summer and stuff, but London weather is not really givining me that vibe just yet *sad face*
Consequently our nails are still probably coated in navy blues, blacks, 50 shades of burgundy, and what not…I know mine are! Hence, I thought it was a good appropriate to show you my favourite A/W 2014 “nail arts” directly from New York Fashion Week. Nothing too complicated or fancy, I’m not THAT adventurous with my tips, and not very skilled either…Everything you see in the picture above is my cup of tea, and there’s something for every mood and taste, me thinks…
For those days where you don’t know which colour to wear, or you’re just a big fan of nudes, we can still be expecting some mannequin tips going on next A/W…From sheerer to ‘bolder’ nudes, my picks are: Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Lychee (£3.99) and Sephora Metallic Nail Polish in Killer Trendsetter (Eur 5).
For the simple nail arts – at Mathieu Mirano’s show, the models were showing black and red striped nails easy peasy. For this I chose: Rimmel 60 Seconds in 800 Black Out (£2.89) and Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Blood Orange (£3.99). At Emerson’s the stripes were diagonal, with a black base, bare nails in the middle and a diagonal lilac on top (if you can’t see my thumb in the pic, check here) – In this case I went from the Rimmel’s 60 Seconds, and Max Factor in the shade 30 Chilled Lilac (£3.99).
Finally, my personal favourite and the little bit more difficult to reproduce, especially for shaky handed gals, was the Alice & Olivia nail art -black base and glittery golden or silver dots. I’ve done mine with a toothpick dipped in H&M Nail Polish in Ocean Sand (limited edition).
Which one is your favourite?
Starting from little finger to thumb: Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Lychee, Rimmel 60 Seconds in 800 Black Out and Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Blood Orange , Rimmel and H&M Nail Polish in Ocean Sand (limited edition), Sephora Metallic Nail Polish in Killer Trendsetter, Rimmel and Max Factor in the shade 30 Chilled Lilac.
